Alice has an M.S. in Urban Planning from the University of Wisconsin, and a B.A. in Geography from Vassar College. Before she became a Realtor®, she spent many years in the non-profit sector – as Senior Vice President of United Way of Los Angeles, President of the Riordan Foundation, and President & Founder of TREE (Technology for Results in Elementary Education). She was also Director of Education for a contemporary art museum in Boston, MA.
Alice became a licensed Realtor® in 2000, starting as a buyers agent and working in several national franchises (most recently Keller Williams). With success and market opportunity, she specialized in REO & distressed properties (notably from 2007-2011) working for multiple bank clients at SoCal REO, Inc., an independent brokerage that she co-owned and founded. Alice strengthened her skills and networks in the distressed property sector by earning admission to the National REO Brokers Association (NRBA), and by obtaining certification in handling short sales as a Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE).
With changing market conditions, Alice transitioned her focus to the retail market and SoCal REO transitioned to Preferred Properties LA Real Estate. Alice has expertise in competitive negotiations on behalf of buyers and sellers, in working with Seniors and their families, and in dealing with probate real estate transactions. She is a SRES Certified (Senior Real Estate Specialist) by the National Association of Realtors® and a Certified Probate Agent. Until recently, she served on Board of Directors of AREAA, the Asian Real Estate Association of America Greater Los Angeles Chapter.
